VISA AND RESIDENT PERMIT

Back
Obtaining a visa

The Azerbaijani government requires every non-Azerbaijani student who is studying for three months or more to apply for a residence permit in order to legally stay (and study) in Azerbaijan. Foreign nationals need to receive a visa from Azerbaijan Embassy or Consulate in their countries unless there is an agreement on visa free travel with the country of citizenship. Admitted foreign students will receive letter of admission to apply for visa in their countries. Ganja State University will also send the admission letter to the Azerbaijan Embassy or Consulate in foreign nationals’ country. This will be issued for a maximum of one month. If a student intends to stay more than one month he/she will apply for a resident permit after his/her arrival to Azerbaijan. Both the entry visa and residence permit must be applied for through Admission Office of Ganja State University.
